On this private south coast tour, we will visit most iconic locations of Southern Iceland. Waterfalls, volcanic landscapes, glaciers, and black sand beaches – it is all here! Our knowledgable guide will make this day a truly memorable experience for you. A private tour means the bus and guide will be just for you!
South Coast of Iceland is one of the most visited parts of Iceland. There is a good reason for that. We will start by driving south over the active volcanic area, where you will be able to admire vast lava fields, wild mountains and geothermal steam rising into the sky.
After a drive through the mountains, we will stop in Hveragerdi to get some coffee and straighten your legs. There is an outstanding bakery here, where you can purchase delicious pastries.
We will continue driving through small towns and villages until we reach the Seljalandsfoss. Here you will get the chance to walk behind this famous waterfall (in summer).
After a short drive, we will stop at another iconic waterfall of the south – Skogafoss. Again you will get a chance to get close with the elements and admire the beauty of nature.
Next stop will be Sólheimajökull where you will be able to walk very close to the glacier and admire chunks of ice floating in the water.
During Summer we will also visit Dyrhoaley, where you will have an amazing view over black sand beach Reynisfjara and get a chance to meet puffins up close. Please note that this area is usually closed during bird nesting season: 15th May – 25th June.
Now we will drive to Reynisfjara, the famous black sand beach. Here you will get a chance to walk among basalt columns and enjoy the power of the ocean.
Our last stop will be the small town of Vik where we will turn around and head towards Reykjavik.
